Thousands attend funeral of Muslim leader Hz  Maulana Sayyed Asad Madani R.A.

Hz Maulana Sayyed Asad Madani r.a., President of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind who passed away in Apollo hospital in Delhi on Monday 6th Feb 2006 @ 17.45.Funeral service took place in Deoband (Uttar Pradesh): on 7th Feb 2006 @ 07.20  Approx. 100,000 supporters, well wishers and family members, attended the funeral service in Deoband .The service was lead by Maulana Talha sahib from Saharanpur (Uttar Pradesh).  Hz Maulana Sayyed Asad Madani r.a. body was laid to rest in mazaar e qaasmi. Next to Maulana Hussain Ahmed Madani r.a.
Hz Maulana Asad Madani r.a. passed away in Delhi after being in a coma for the last 93 days following a head injury. He was 78 and was also suffering from diabetes and heart problem. 
Born in 1928 in Deoband, Hz Maulana Sayyed  Asad Madani r.a. was a post-graduate in Islamic Theology. He began his public career as the vice-president of Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind and was elected the party’s president in 1973.
Hz Maulana Sayyed Asad Madani r.a. was elected thrice to the Upper House of Parliament between 1968 and 1994. A staunch nationalist, Hz Maulana Sayyed Asad Madani r.a. was known for his commitment to the one-nation theory and fought against Muslim communalism. He was also actively involved in anti-terrorist campaigns for the past three years.
Jamait Ulama-i-Hind is part of the Darul-Uloom, Deoband, which is a renowned religious and academic centre in the Islamic world.
In the sub-continent Darul-Uloom is the largest institution for the dissemination and propagation of Islam and the biggest head spring of education in the Islamic sciences.
Followers of Deoband School practice orthodox Sunni Islam. Deoband produced some renowned Muslim scholars who resisted British rule in India, which ended with independence and partition of the subcontinent into India and Pakistan in 1947.

Hz Sayyed Asad Madani r.a. also joined his father in continuing the work of his father and establishing the position of the Muslims in India after their weakened condition due to the oppression of the Majority.He brought the Muslims from a weak position to giving them rights, positions, status and respect in society.He established many Madrasahs and schools and has served the Ummah for over 30 years. He spent one month at home in Deoband during Ramadan and 11 months for the work of Deen.A few years ago,during his Da'wah work,he received the news of his wife passing away. He was saddened by the news but this did not weaken him. He continued the work which was ongoing at the time of the news. This was his faith in Allah and level of commitment to Islam. Such a renowned character has been taken from the Ummah leaving all his work behind.It is a request to all the Muslims that they pray for Sheikh and do Isaal-e-Thawaab.
